Credit Transfer Policies and Requirements

Newport University’s Credit Transfer Service will show you how courses taken at other colleges and universities. You’ll just need to enter relevant information as requested and you’ll receive feedback showing how your credits would transfer to NU. The service is designed for all students – whether you’re an incoming student or a current NU student wishing to take an NU equivalent course at another institution.

Upon completion of the course, students must request that an official transcript be sent to the Office of Admissions. We will evaluate the transcript and will update your permanent record with credit in those courses in which you earned a grade of “C” (2.0/4.0) or better. For any course in which a grade of “C-” or lower is received, no credit will be given. Transfer grades are not recorded in your NU GPA.

Official transcripts must be received by the Office of Admissions in a sealed college/university envelope. Transcripts previously opened will not be accepted for transfer credit.
