Aero-Mechanical Engineering

The university offers this program by blended mode (distance/online + physical practical facilities) through specific Approved Support Centers. The Aero-Mechanical Engineering- concentration is designed as your passport to certify aircraft’s airworthiness as the undergraduate incorporates the European Aviation Safety Agency* (EASA) syllabus, preparing you with the option to choose any one of the EASA Part 66 Category B1-1 license examinations. You sit for the EASA license examination at the same time you pursue your undergraduate course at Newport University, which is the first step in gaining a full EASA license. Students will receive strong background in mathematics, the sciences, engineering technology, and the more technical courses and have to complete all total 124 US or 248 ECTS Credits in total 4 Years.

Health Requirements

All offers are subject to the student being certified by a medical practitioner as fit to be accepted into the program and not having any of the following medical/physical conditions:

COLOR BLINDNESS // HEARING DEFECTS // ASTHMA

On-Job Training (OJT): As part of the EASA licensing requirement student(s) shall undergo with an On-Job Training for at least six (06) months with our aviation partners.

Exemption: Students having BE/BTech or its equivalent qualification will be entitled to get exemption from appearing in up to six subjects of GE courses, as per their discipline in BEng/BTech course.

(a) The students belonging to Electrical/ Electronics and Allied streams may get exemption of subjects, namely, Applied Mathematics, Basic Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Microprocessors & Software Engineering, Engineering Drawing & Design.

(b) The students belonging to Mechanical, Civil, Chemical and Allied disciplines may get exemption in subjects, namely, Applied Mathematics, Fluid Mechanics Strength of Material, Engineering Thermodynamics, Engineering Drawing & Design.

*EASA Part-66

EASA Part-66 regulates the knowledge requirements for Certifying Staff in EASA Part-145 Approved Maintenance Organizations. EASA Part-66 defines the following categories of Certifying Staff:

A – Maintenance Certifying Mechanic

B1 – Maintenance Certifying Technician – Mechanical

B2 – Maintenance Certifying Technician – Avionics

C – Base Maintenance Certifying Engineer

Please take into account that with all of these licenses, it is not just a matter of attending a course and you get the license; you also need to provide proof that you have completed the required amount of work experience within an EASA Part-145 approved maintenance organization or equivalent.

Approved examinations have a 10-year shelf life, so you can study at your own pace, but please remember that within this time you also need to gain your experience and at least 6 months of the experience must be gained within the last 12 months before you apply for your license.
